Scenario 1: Enabling hospital support software
Data routing and enhancement A hospital software provider uses SRTransport as an integeral part of it's offering. SRTransport is used to high volume, complex exports from core hospital data management systems. SRTransport's transformational capabilities allow the reuse of the hospital's legacy data extraction code. After processing by the support software, data is returned to the hospital's core systems by SRTransport, which performs additional validation, consistency checks and lookups. Because of SRTransport's easy configurability, the software provider's domain experts and system support staff are able to deploy their product easily with no additional engineering support. This case study also demonstrates SRTransport's flexibility: along with more familiar data exchange protocols, SRTransport supports a specialized Health Care Systems data format, HL7, which is internationally recognized as the leading hospital data exchange protocol.
