Database to database transports
Data in one database needs to be moved to another database.
Few vendors support simple solutions to this problem and no vendors provide
cross vendor solutions, e.g. transporting data from an Oracle database to a Sybase database. SR·Transport solves the problem.
Database to XML and XML to database transports
XML is increasingly the data communication mechanism of choice.
XML documents are being used to standardize inter- and intra-organization
data interchange throughout industry and government.
Unfortunately, XML import and export is not natively supported by databases,
requiring special coding and MIS investment to accomplish the task. SR·Transport solves the problem.
Data manipulation and modification during transport
Although databases typically provide export and import facilities,
these tools are generally focused on simple backups of data.
Not only is the target a file,
but it is really just a snapshot of the database.
However, transporting data between different databases or different
data stores (for example, XML documents), it is necessary to modify the data
to match a different schema or to carry new semantics. SR·Transport solves the problem.
Regular, scheduled transports
Often, data needs to be transported on a regular basis.
This may be infrequent, for example data that is transferred on a
quarterly basis, but as eCommerce solutions have demonstrated,
there is often a need for frequent data transfer to manage and
conclude complex business transactions. This may take the form
of direct database-to-database communication, or it may involve
generation of XML documents from a database or accepting XML
documents into a database. In all of these cases,
SR·Transport solves the problem.
Semantics oriented development cycle
In all the scenarios listed above,
traditional methods and solutions require a lengthy development cycle.
The programming issues are complex and domain and subject matter experts
must communicate complex requirements to the programming staff.
By empowering the domain and subject matter experts,
SR·Transport solves the problem.
